Every year since inception, PLAN has raised funds and charitable donations for women's shelters. In 2021 PLAN gathered non perishable food and toiletries for 3 different shelters. We donated to Covenant House, Mother & Child Residential, and Providence House.
In 2022, we changed it up a bit. We created "Blessing Bags". They include: bath bomb, blank journal, motivational stickers, face mask, candy, stuffed animal in a lunch bag. We wanted to do something a bit more personal last year. We were able to donate to 4 different shelters. PLAN donated to Covenant House, Mother & Child Residential, Sisterhood, and Viola's Place. We were ecstatic to be able to add another shelter to list. We hope to continue to be able to grow that list and hopefully donate to at least one shelter in each county of NJ.
Shannon and Kevin made base camp in their dining room and got to work! Hand creating all the bags with some furry help! We are so thankful for all that donated money or the items needed to create the bags. A big THANK YOU to The Lavish Loft who allowed PLAN to ask for donations in their store for November and December. We could not have done it with everyone's kind donations to the cause.
For 2023, we will most likely stay with the blessing bags but we might change the contents a bit. We have more shelters we would like to reach out to this year, as well as starting the process earlier in the Fall/Winter season.
